The VCRD is a commercial kitchen exhaust ventilator that requires NFPA-96 compliant grease collection. Loren Cook specifies either an aluminum grease trough or Grease Terminator system for VCR units.
The Grease Terminator 2 canister (model 12-9060, part 778870) is the NFPA-96 compliant grease collection option designed specifically for VCR and VCRD fans. The canister captures grease before it reaches your rooftop unit and requires replacement every 30 to 45 days depending on your kitchen’s grease output.
The canister itself is standard across all VCR models. What changes is the drain tube that connects the canister to your specific fan size.
We offer retrofit drain tubes that install from the outside of the fan housing without removing the motor or wheel assembly. For trough drain systems, we also offer retrofit trough tubes.
