Factory drain tubes require inside installation. A technician must fully disassemble the fan to access the housing interior. If your drain hole is damaged or oversized from a previous tube being ripped out, factory snap-in parts won’t hold.
The 778TROUGH custom mounting washers cover the entire drain opening and screw directly into the fan housing. Works on damaged holes. This tube is shaped and sized specifically for aluminum trough systems.

Factory snap in parts often fail if the drain hole is enlarged or damaged. If a previous drain tube was ripped out, the hole is usually oversized or has rough edges. The factory piece won’t stay secure in a messy hole.
The 778TROUGH uses custom mounting washers that snap onto the tube and cover the entire drain opening. The washers have pre drilled holes for direct screw attachment. You caulk the tube and screw it into the side of the fan from the outside. No fan disassembly required. Works on damaged or oversized holes because the washer assembly covers the entire opening.

The 778TROUGH tube is designed specifically for the passive trough system. If you have a Grease Terminator 2 canister, you need the 778TERM2 retrofit tube instead. That tube uses heavier duty snap on washers rated for the weight and vibration of the active filtration canister.
The self-taping screws are included.
This retrofit tube fits all Loren Cook VCR series and ACRU series upblast exhaust fans with grease interceptor systems. Works on both belt drive and direct drive models.
The tube attaches to the drain hole at the base of the fan windband. The other end connects to your #778873 aluminum trough.
